What is official

• Official Take-Two’s 24 June 2026 pre-order release: GTA VI “features a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.”
• Store listing The Xbox Store description says: “Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.” Its capabilities list “Single player”. The US PlayStation page lists “1 player”.
• Official Platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, launching 19 November 2026. There is no PC version to play across.
• Official The free GTA+ month for digital pre-orders is for GTA Online on GTA V, not a GTA VI online service.

What is reported

• Reported Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg on 17 September that Twitch has been talking with Rockstar and expects the bigger GTA 6 bump with multiplayer “next year”. That is Twitch, not Rockstar.
• Reported A 32-player online figure circulates from older reports. Rockstar has not published it.

Not confirmed Not at launch as announced, because the game is single-player. Rockstar has not said anything about crossplay for a future online mode.

Will my GTA Online character carry over?

Not confirmed Rockstar has not announced any transfer into GTA VI. GTA Online on GTA V continues as its own game.

Is there cross-save between PS5 and Xbox?

Not confirmed No cross-save has been announced. A purchase stays on the store you buy from.

• Store listing The US PlayStation page lists “Offline play enabled”, “1 player” and “Remote Play supported” (PlayStation.com, 14 Oct). No PS Plus requirement is listed.
• Official Rockstar’s September Mod Guidelines say multiplayer mods must run through its licensed Creator Platform. That is a policy for all its games, not a GTA 6 online date (Rockstar).
• Official Strauss Zelnick said on 17 September that GTA Online on GTA V continues.
