Brazil: Reported Brazil’s Ministry of Justice published a ClassInd “Não recomendado para menores de dezoito anos (18+)” for Grand Theft Auto VI in the Diário Oficial da União on 9 October 2026, per Portal Viciados. Store listing The Brazilian PlayStation Store now shows “ClassInd 18+” (re-checked 20 October, PlayStation Store BR).

• Launch? 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the US the store listings unlock it at 12:00 a.m. ET.
• Official age rating? M for Mature 17+ (ESRB, ESRB.org). Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol. Interactive element: In-Game Purchases.
• Europe? The PlayStation Store across Europe shows PEGI 18 (Store listing, re-checked 14 October), but PEGI hasn’t certified the game on PEGI.info yet. PEGI did post a PEGI 18 on 2 October 2026 and then pulled the page (Reported; what happened). Its note, as quoted by IGN and VGC, mentioned realistic gore including dismemberment, drug use the player can do at any time from the inventory, nudity and sex scenes, and paid private dances with physical contact.
• Store badges? The US PlayStation Store and Xbox Store show the same ESRB Mature 17+ badge. See ratings.
• PC / last-gen? No official PC date. No PS4 / Xbox One launch SKU.

What parents usually ask

• Is it for kids? No. The ESRB put it at 17+, and the content list above is the reason. Rockstar designs GTA as an adult crime satire.
• Can I use parental controls? Console family settings exist on PS5 and Xbox. They do not rewrite the game’s content. They gate age ratings, purchases and play time — set the age limit and an M game won’t launch on a child account.
• In-game purchases? The ESRB lists the In-Game Purchases label. Rockstar hasn’t announced what can be bought; Take-Two says it expects no recurring spending at launch. Lock purchases in family settings anyway.
• Online? GTA 6 launches single-player. No online mode at launch; GTA Online for GTA V continues separately. Do not assume a kid-safe online mode later.
