The two official slips — then the lock

Trailer 1 carried a 2025 window. In May 2025 Rockstar moved the game to 26 May 2026. On 6 November 2025 it moved again, to 19 November 2026, saying it needed more time to reach the polish players “expect and deserve.” Those are the official delays. The current date has not moved since that Newswire. Take-Two printed the same day on 24 June 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

November is still November

Digital pre-load starts 12 November 2026, local midnight. You download. You do not start the story. Launch is still the 19th. Purchases before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. After that date, it is not part of the offer as described. There is still no official early-access SKU — see early access.

The November card is the pre-load checklist. A storefront queue is not a slip. A leak week is not a slip either. No Game Pass or PS Plus day-one listing this pass: Game Pass · PS Plus.

One leak week is one news post

August clips and a reporter saying the premiere did not move live on GTA 6 Leaks Don't Delay the August 27 Extended Look. That is a leak-week verdict. If Rockstar prints a new date, this page gets the dated line. Until then: 19 November.

Common “did it slip again?” threads land on the FAQ. The full date ladder is the timeline. A delay rumour is still a rumour until Rockstar posts it.

What Bloomberg reported about the delays (14 October)

• Reported Rockstar’s leaders say there was no single problem. Workload projections for non-playable characters led to a new Los Angeles studio for them.
• Reported Phil Hooker: “We could hit that schedule, but it won’t be the game we want to make.”
• Reported Cross-check: GameSpot also says the NPC numbers “were a large reason for the first GTA 6 delay” (GameSpot). Hooker’s schedule line is also in Wccftech.
• Official None of this changes the date: 19 November 2026.
