GTA 6 age rating — not yet rated
Grand Theft Auto VI does not have a final age rating we can put on a box. Take-Two printed that on 24 June 2026. The Xbox store listing we fetched says RATING PENDING LIKELY MATURE 17+. The PlayStation product page prints ESRB Rating Pending Mature 17+. PlayStation Support still writes that the ratings are unconfirmed, and points at Grand Theft Auto V. Those are three different desks. Desk pass: 6 September 2026.
The shop page is the pre-order guide. The hardware list is platforms. The compact sheet is what’s confirmed. GTA6 NOW is independent. We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. We do not sell the game. We do not take a cut.

Final certificate
No Grand Theft Auto VI page on ESRB.org we can cite. No invented PEGI 18.
The sentence Take-Two actually printed
The 24 June 2026 pre-order release names the stores, the prices, the download-code box, and then a short line: “Grand Theft Auto VI is not yet rated.” Further details, they said, live at rockstargames.com/VI. That is the publisher sentence. It has not been replaced by a later Take-Two filing we can find.
The same release is why the pre-order guide already says the cardboard sleeve is a code, and not yet rated. Launch remains 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What the storefronts printed
Microsoft’s Xbox store listing for Grand Theft Auto VI, the Standard SKU we fetched, sets the content rating board to ESRB and the description to “RATING PENDING LIKELY MATURE 17+.” The disclaimer on that same listing is “May contain content inappropriate for children. Visit ESRB.org for rating information.” That is store copy. It is not a certificate number.
Sony’s PlayStation product page for the same game prints a different pending label: “ESRB Rating Pending Mature 17+,” with the internal name ESRB_RP17. The consumer PlayStation page also says “May contain content inappropriate for children.” That is still a pending badge. It is not “rated M.”
PlayStation Support’s own GTA VI offer article — the same page we already use for the complimentary month — answers “What age rating is Grand Theft Auto VI?” in a third voice: “at the time of writing the age ratings for Grand Theft Auto VI are unconfirmed.” Then it adds that Grand Theft Auto V was rated M (Mature 17+) by the ESRB in North America and PEGI 18 in Europe, “indicating that it is intended for adult players.” That last clause is about V. We will not promote V’s PEGI 18 into a VI certificate.

|---|---|---|---|
| Take-Two, 24 June 2026 | “Grand Theft Auto VI is not yet rated.” | Publisher press line on the pre-order sheet. | A later secret rating Take-Two did not print. |
| Xbox / Microsoft Store | RATING PENDING LIKELY MATURE 17+. May contain content inappropriate for children. Visit ESRB.org. | Store contentRating on the Standard listing we fetched. | A final ESRB M. Invented descriptors. A PEGI number for VI. |
| PlayStation Store product page | ESRB Rating Pending Mature 17+ (ESRB_RP17). | Storefront pending badge on the PS5 listing we fetched. | “PlayStation rated it M.” A claim Support’s FAQ agrees with the badge. |
| PlayStation Support | Age ratings “are unconfirmed.” GTA V was ESRB M and PEGI 18. | Support article, US, the GTA+ offer terms page. | A PEGI 18 for VI. A claim V’s certificate is VI’s. |
| ESRB.org / PEGI | No Grand Theft Auto VI rating page we can cite this pass. A search for that title currently surfaces older entries. | Absence. We checked. | A fake certificate URL. A screenshot of someone else’s email. An invented PEGI 18. |

Where those labels live
Take-Two named PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and global retailers. We do not rank them. We do not take a cut. These are the official pages the rating copy actually sits on, plus the publisher sheet.
- rockstargames.com/VI — Rockstar’s own page. Take-Two pointed here for “further details.”
- Xbox store — Standard — US listing. Rating Pending Likely Mature 17+.
- Xbox store — Ultimate — same pending line on the locker we already cite for editions.
- PlayStation — Grand Theft Auto VI — US games page. Pending Mature 17+ badge. FAQ still says unconfirmed.
- Take-Two pre-order announcement — “not yet rated.”
Regional storefronts set their own currency and their own ratings boards. A UK or EU page can print a different pending label. We are not converting that into a PEGI 18 for you. Common “is it M / PEGI 18?” threads: FAQ. US clock sheet: US release date. Side-content honesty: side activities.
