Update, 20 October 2026. Store listing The PlayStation Store DE now shows USK 18 (Drastische Gewalt, Drogen, Problematische Vorbilder; In-Game-Käufe), and the PlayStation Store JP shows CERO Z (Crime, Violence). Game*Spark reported the Japanese stores switched from 審査予定 to Z on 17 October Reported. The PlayStation Store BR now shows ClassInd 18+. Official ESRB stays M for Mature 17+.

Nothing had changed since 7 October: Mature 17+ in the US, Canada and Mexico; PEGI 18 in the UK and 14 more European stores; R 18+ in Australia; R18 in New Zealand; “USK Rating Pending” in Germany; “CERO Under Review” in Japan; “ClassInd Rating Pending” in Brazil. We read the rating block on the Grand Theft Auto VI page of the PlayStation Store in each region. That’s the store’s data, labeled Store listing. A store badge isn’t the same thing as a board’s own database, which is why the PEGI row says two things at once.

What the ESRB printed
The ESRB.org page lists Grand Theft Auto VI by Rockstar Games for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The assigned-rating line reads: “Grand Theft Auto VI is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol.” Under it sits one interactive element: In-Game Purchases. The US PlayStation and Xbox stores carry the same badge.
What the page still doesn’t have is the long ESRB rating summary, the paragraph that explains which scenes earned which descriptor. Those often show up closer to launch. We won’t write one for them.
“In-Game Purchases” is a ratings label. It is not Rockstar announcing a cash shop. Take-Two said on 17 September it does not expect recurrent consumer spend at this launch, and the game launches single-player. More on the money: why GTA 6 costs $80.

The PEGI page that came and went
Reported (IGN, VGC, Push Square): on Friday 2 October 2026 PEGI published a PEGI 18 rating for the game, with a content note far more specific than PEGI usually writes. As quoted by those outlets, it described violence “bloody with a high degree of realism,” including “detailed decapitation and dismemberment”; drug use that is “frequent and prominent,” with drugs usable straight from the player’s inventory; “nudity, scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes”; paid private dances in nightclubs with physical contact; harm to domestic animals; strong language; and optional in-game purchases.
Then the page vanished. IGN’s update (2 October, 2:39 p.m. ET) says it now reads “The requested page could not be found.” We searched pegi.info again on 7 October: “Found 0 results.” PEGI hasn’t explained. Meanwhile the European PlayStation Stores switched to a plain PEGI 18 badge with descriptors. So: Store listing PEGI 18, PEGI not certified on pegi.info, and a pulled PEGI 18 page (Reported). Before all that, UK posters and dummy cases sent to stores in the week of 22 September carried a provisional PEGI 18 (Reported).

Is GTA 6 rated in South Korea?
Reported Yes, adults only. Yonhap reported that the Game Content Rating Board (GCRB) rated it 청소년이용불가 (not for minors) on 16 October 2026, which keeps the 19 November Korean launch on track. Store listing The PlayStation Store KR shows “GRAC 19+” with Crime, Drugs, Sexual Content, language and violence descriptors, at ₩89,800 Standard and ₩112,800 Ultimate (read 20 October).
