GTA 6: The Last Six Weeks Before Launch
Six weeks. That’s all that’s left. Counting from Wednesday 7 October, it’s 43 days to Thursday 19 November 2026, and the US PlayStation and Xbox listings put the unlock at 12:00 a.m. ET. Rockstar still hasn’t posted an hour of its own. So this is the run-in: every dated beat between now and launch, what you should actually do each week, and what Rockstar is still keeping in the vault. Desk stamp: 7 October 2026.

Your six-week checklist
Here’s the honest version. Most of this takes five minutes. The rest is waiting, which you’ve been training for since 2013.
- This week: pick your edition. Standard is US$79.99, Ultimate US$99.99. The physical box is a download code, not a disc. Not sure? Edition picker · what it all costs.
- Before 20 November: buy, if you want the Vintage pack. It’s tied to the purchase date, not the launch date. Buy from the official stores only: pre-order safety.
- Late October: clear space. There’s no official install size yet. Nobody outside Rockstar knows it, so don’t trust a number on a thumbnail. Plan for a big game plus a day-one patch: storage plan.
- Early November: check your account and console. Sign in to the account you bought on, update the console, and make sure the game is in your library.
- Thursday 12 November: pre-load. Start it that night and let it run. Pre-load.
- Wednesday 18 November: kill the evening. HEAT vs Bucks as “Vice City” at 7:00 p.m. ET, then the store clock turns over at 12:00 a.m. ET. Launch checklist · day one.
What Rockstar still hasn’t told us
Six weeks out and the vault is still locked on these. If any of them drops, this list gets shorter and the date goes in the table above.

- Not announced Install size, on any platform.

- Not announced The radio station list. Six album singles are out; stations aren’t. Radio.
- Not announced A PEGI page you can open on pegi.info, and German, Japanese and Brazilian board decisions. Ratings.

- Not announced PC. Still no date, no price, no store page. PC.
What landed in the last two weeks
- Official: ESRB rated the game M for Mature 17+ (1 Oct). The HEAT and Rockstar set A Night in Vice City (2 Oct).
- Reported: Game Informer’s cover story put Leonida at about twice GTA V’s map, with hurricanes and 170+ animal species. Leonida, region by region.
