“From Classic Rock to Talk Radio” in Rockstar’s copy is a range of formats. It does not name a Classic Rock or a Talk Radio station. Rockstar calls the dial “the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet” and has not given a count.

Podcasts, earbuds and music on foot

Rockstar, verbatim: “for the first time ever, Grand Theft Auto VI introduces a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida’s terrestrial radio, with both radio and podcasts available to listen to in vehicles and on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones.” Official.

In every earlier GTA the song stopped when you got out of the car. Now it doesn’t have to. No podcast title, host or episode count has been printed. A “resume where you left off” feature is creator speculation, not Rockstar copy.

What the preview players play

Each station on the music page has a preview player with a station ident and three labeled songs, 18 in total. Examples: Bad Bunny “EoO” on Cocoteo FM, Loretta Lynn on Back Country Radio, Slayer “Raining Blood” on The Chamber, MGMT “Electric Feel” on Flash FM. That is a preview, not a playlist. A song in a preview is not a host credit. Bad Bunny and Slayer are artists there. Trick Daddy is a featured artist on a DJ Khaled track.

Celebrity voices: Reported, not Official

Press-release copy quoted by Gaming Age, and reporting by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and DJ Mag, pair the characters with real people: Bad Bunny and RaiNao (Cocoteo FM), Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey, with Jeremy Dufrene as Mud Dog Mike (Back Country Radio), Burna Boy and Palms Trax (AfroBank FM), Kerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer (The Chamber 106.6), Robyn and Alex Consani (Flash FM), Trick Daddy and Trina (Dirty South Classics). Reported. We will move these to Official when Rockstar prints them on its own pages.

Not true as worded: “Slayer hosts a station” (two members reportedly voice two DJs), “Morgan Wallen’s album single proves he hosts” (separate things), “every station has a celebrity host” (only six stations are known).

The Album is a separate product

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album (Rockstar + Atlantic, 34 original tracks, out 19 November) has eight singles out: six from 17 September, plus Fuerza Regida “Suzuki” and Cardi B “Don’t Chart” on 8 October, 11:01 p.m. ET. None of the eight is in a station preview. Whether album songs play on the dial has not been announced. See the soundtrack hub.

Old leak names are still not the dial

Before 8 October, recaps of the August plane-clip leak floated V-Rock, Emotion 98.3, Stockyard and an “On-Demand” slot (our notes: post 75, post 78). None of those names is in Rockstar’s six. The “On-Demand” slot now reads differently next to Rockstar’s official on-demand podcasts, but we still don’t treat a leaked overlay as a menu. Those names stay Unverified on the leak tracker.

Flash FM is the one station name Rockstar brought back from Vice City (2002).
