Rockstar opened Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders on 25 June 2026, midnight local time. This page lists only what Rockstar and Take-Two printed. It is not a storefront. We do not rank retailers. We do not take a cut.

Platforms

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not published a PC date. The compact card is platforms. The empty GPU chart is system requirements.

What a pre-order includes

Every pre-order, and any purchase before 20 November 2026, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack: a ’55 Vapid Stanier, a Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, vintage outfits and hairstyles for both leads, and a tropical weapon pattern Rockstar tied to the 2002 game. Digital pre-orders also include a month of GTA+. That GTA+ line is for digital. It is not a promise the boxed code includes the same month. Pack page: Vintage pack.

Ultimate Edition, Rockstar said, adds extra clothing, vehicles, weapons, and “action threaded across” Jason and Lucia’s story. There is no official mission-by-mission breakdown of that last phrase. Side-by-side: Standard vs Ultimate compare. Locker write-up: editions.

The dated commercial sheet

The US$399.99 box is not a pre-order edition

The Rockstar Store is taking pre-orders for The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection: eleven Vice City collectibles in a drawer box, US$399.99. The listing says “Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.” Pre-ordering it does not reserve the game, does not include the Vintage pack, and does not unlock Ultimate items. The box is a code

Digital pre-load begins 12 November 2026. Physical boxes contain a download code rather than a disc and go on sale from 12 November so buyers can pre-load. That is official. It is already a fight about ownership. It is not evidence that a playable disc edition exists. Support says there is no physical Ultimate Edition. The November card is the pre-load checklist. The ownership fight is the boxed-copy hub.

Where to start

Use the official page. Take-Two named PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and global retailers. We do not rank them. If a storefront flashes a different day, wait for Newswire. Retailer placeholders move.

Do not buy a gray-market “key” because it is five dollars cheaper. If the code fails in November, this site cannot refund you. There is no official early access. The 12 November pre-load is a download date, not a play date.

Update, 20 October 2026: what changed and what’s new

We re-read the stores and the store policies on 20 October. Prices, editions and the 19 November date haven’t moved. Here’s what this guide was missing.

When it unlocks (ET)

Store listing The US PlayStation Store and the US Xbox Store both list a release of 2026-11-19 at 05:00 UTC, which is 12:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, 19 November (read 20 October). Stores unlock at local midnight, so other regions open at different ET times. The Korean PlayStation Store, for example, lists 18 November at 15:00 UTC, which is 10:00 a.m. ET on 18 November (midnight in Seoul). Pre-load opens 12 November. What each store edition says it contains

Store listing The US Xbox Store, read 20 October: Standard lists “Grand Theft Auto VI” plus the “Vintage Vice City Pack.” Ultimate lists the game, the “Ultimate Edition Upgrade” and the Vintage Vice City Pack. The listing shows Xbox Series X|S, “Single player” and “Optimized for Xbox Series X|S,” rated Mature 17+.

Cancelling and refunds, store by store

Official PlayStation Store (Sony’s cancellation policy, read 20 October): if you paid “more than 14 days before the main product release date,” you can cancel “at any time before the release date and receive a refund.” If you paid 14 days or less before release, the window is 14 days from payment. Both apply only if you haven’t started downloading, and Sony counts “pre-loading before release” as downloading. So once the 12 November pre-load starts, including an automatic one, the refund right is gone.

Official Microsoft Store (Pre-orders for Microsoft Store): with a card, Microsoft “may charge you up to 10 days before the release date.” With Microsoft account money, it charges right away. You can cancel any pre-order in your order history. If it’s already billed but not released, Microsoft processes the cancellation as a refund. One correction to a common claim: Microsoft’s pre-order price guarantee covers physical items only. It “does not apply to digital items.”

Retail boxes are a download code (Official, Take-Two). The retailer’s own return policy applies until you redeem it. Step by step: cancel a pre-order.

Hardware: PS5 Pro, bundles, Xbox Play Anywhere, PC

• Store listing The US PlayStation Store shows a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag (read 20 October). PS5 Pro.
• Official No GTA 6 console bundle has been announced. Sony Japan’s PS5 Digital Edition Midnight Black (¥55,000, Japan-only) launches on 19 November too, but Sony’s 13 October post mentions no GTA 6 bundle. PS5 bundle.
• Store listing The Xbox listing doesn’t show Xbox Play Anywhere or Xbox Cloud Gaming (read 20 October). Xbox Play Anywhere.
• Reported PC: Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version. Insider reporting points to the first quarter of 2027. PC report · PC.

How many people have pre-ordered?

Estimate Sensor Tower estimates 6.08 million US digital pre-orders as of 13 October, about $594 million, 74% on PlayStation, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. That excludes boxed copies and other countries. Take-Two hasn’t published a count. The full breakdown.

Official No. Pre-load from 12 November is a download only. Stores unlock at local midnight on launch day.

Does pre-loading cancel my refund on PlayStation?

Official Yes. Sony’s policy counts pre-loading as downloading, so turn automatic downloads off if you’re undecided.

Is there a GTA 6 PS5 bundle?

Official None has been announced as of 20 October.

Can I buy on Xbox and play on PC?
