NBA 2K27's Season 1 Trailer Teases a GTA 6 Season. 2K's Newsroom Doesn't.

Palm trees, sirens, a Rockstar cabinet, and the words Season 3. The press release still reads like basketball.

2K dropped a Season 1 trailer on 25 August. The last seconds stop being basketball. Palm trees from Rockstar's first GTA 6 art. Seagulls. Sirens. Two arcade cabinets, 2K and Rockstar, both flashing Season 3. That is the news. Not the hoverboard.

GTA6 NOW is independent. We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or 2K. I hosted V-Rock in 2002. A logo on a cabinet is still a logo on a cabinet.

What 2K printed
Newsroom, same day: Season 1 on 26 August at 9:00 a.m. PT. Worldwide 4 September. Wemby. No GTA 6. No Rockstar. No Season 3.

The last seconds
Kotaku and GameRant describe GTA 6's 2023 palm-tree art, sirens, and dual cabinets labeled Season 3. That read is press, not a 2K sentence.

Season 3 clock
The trailer dates Season 2 as 16 October. 2K did not print a Season 3 start. Late November is a six-week guess, not a Newswire.

What the last seconds actually show

Season 1 is basketball. Cosmetics, The City, MyTEAM. Then the camera walks off the court. Kotaku saw birds and neon palms from the first GTA 6 artwork Rockstar put out in 2023, with police sirens under them. GameRant saw two cabinets, a 2K logo and a Rockstar Games logo, screens advertising Season 3 in the purple-pink GTA 6 marketing look.

That is a visual rhyme, not a contract. 2K did not caption the shot "GTA 6 crossover." Rockstar did not quote-tweet it. We will not upgrade a cabinet into a content list. Courts, kits, Jason on a loading screen: those are fan menus. The trailer does not print them.

What 2K printed the same day

The 2K newsroom on 25 August is a Season 1 sheet. 26 August, 9:00 a.m. Pacific, early access. 4 September worldwide. Cover athlete Victor Wembanyama. Forty reward levels. A New York soundtrack. The NBA 2K HQ app. Rated E.

E is the rating that should make you slow down. GTA 6 is not an E game. A themed season can still be palms and sirens without a wrench takedown. Until 2K prints the rewards, treat "Vice City court" as a guess.

Season 2 is the one date the trailer does put on screen, per Kotaku and GameRant: 16 October. That line is not in the newsroom copy we pulled. It is in the tape. We will keep those two piles separate.

Season 3 is not a date

Six-week 2K seasons are a habit, not a clock. Kotaku ran the habit out to "on or around 27 November," a week after GTA 6's 19 November launch. GameRant left Season 3 as November question marks. Both are doing math on a trailer card. 2K did not print the sum.

Launch is still 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Thursday's Extended Look is still Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET, YouTube and the VI site at 9:00. A 2K cabinet is not on that rundown either. How to sit in the room is on the watch page.

Take-Two already mixed these catalogs once

On 5 March 2026 Rockstar posted that NBA 2K26 was going into the GTA+ Games Library on console, 10 March through 20 April, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, plus a content pack. First non-Rockstar title on that shelf. Limited window. That post named the partner: @NBA2K.

This trailer does the reverse. 2K borrows Rockstar's art and does not name the game in the newsroom. Same parent. Different sentence. One was a partnership line with a start date and an end date. This one is a closing sting.

After Thursday we will still have a 2K trailer that points at Season 3. If Rockstar or 2K print the season, we will date it. Until then the cabinet stays a cabinet.
