Ocean Beach crowds are the 30fps problem. Online still caps sessions at 30.

Ocean Beach crowds are the 30fps problem. Online still caps sessions at 30.

Rockstar listed VI next to the cash cows. Ocean Beach crowd sim is the 30fps fear. GTA Online's page still caps dynamic sessions at 30.

Rockstar's digital storefront now lists Grand Theft Auto VI alongside its decade-old cash cows. One camp wants a reactive Vice City with dense pedestrian AI and streamed interiors. The other remembers 30fps launches and GTA Online's monetization pile-on. Those are different fights. People keep gluing them together.

Ocean Beach versus the silicon

Dense open-world simulation is a CPU bill. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the official Rockstar Store page for GTA V still advertises dedicated graphics modes and 3D audio. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 on their launch consoles already showed the house rule: simulation density first, frame rate second. Ocean Beach crowds, cop pathfinding, and storefront interiors are the load. If Vice City triples Los Santos sidewalk density and keeps complex collision meshes, a locked 60fps mode on these consoles is a steep ask.

Career Builder is the other scar

The tone fight is about money as much as frame time. GTA Online's decade of compounding updates buried grounded street-level robberies under weaponized bunkers, missile bikes, and corporate empires. Official updates on rockstargames.com added high-performance vehicle classes alongside the Career Builder, which gives newcomers instant executive offices. Shark Cash Cards and GTA+ sit on top. That is why people think Vice City multiplayer will arrive as menus, not as a street.

Thirty players is still the posted cap

Rockstar's multiplayer infrastructure on rockstargames.com still caps dynamic sessions at 30 players. Leonida has not been given a new number. The Extended Look is already on YouTube, about 27 minutes, after a Netflix-first window on 27 August. Rob Nelson's 30 FPS comments are the hardware question. Crowd AI across Ocean Beach at 60 is the wish. Base consoles at 30 is how this studio ships density.

Same argument as RDR2 launch. Reminds me why RDR2 downtime worked.

Even if he had the build, Rockstar sat on RDR2 leaks for months and it didn't hurt it one bit.
