GTA 6 Is Locked for 19 November 2026. Six Wagers Are Still Wagers

Rockstar wrote a Thursday. The bookies, the leftover May calendars, and the unauthorized clips did not.
On 6 November 2025, Rockstar Games locked Grand Theft Auto VI for Thursday, 19 November 2026.
Take-Two has kept that Thursday through earnings guidance, console storefronts, and a 12 November 2026 preload.
Rockstar wrote a Thursday. The bookies, the leftover May calendars, and the unauthorized clips did not.
Claim Rockstar locked 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. The six timeline wagers are still wagers.
Evidence Newswire, 6 November 2025: Thursday, 19 November 2026. Zelnick and the Xbox store repeat it. Store bios name the leads. None of the six wagers sit on a Newswire or a spec sheet.
Verdict Confirmed calendar, platforms, leads, price, preload, and single-player day one. Next hard check: 12 November preload.
- 6 November 2025: Newswire locks Thursday, 19 November 2026.
- 17 May 2026: Zelnick: "It's November 19, 2026. I do know."
- 25 June 2026: Xbox store lists Series X|S. No PC SKU. Launch is single-player.
- 11 July 2026: Rockstar store names Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.
- 7 August 2026: Take-Two bookings $8.0 to $8.2 billion on November 19. $79.99 / $99.99. Preload 12 November. Boxed code.
- 28 August 2026: Nelson: no microtransactions and no generative AI in the single-player game.
- 1 September 2026: L3 sprint is a reporter claim. tbreak still prints 26 May 2026.
- 12 November 2026: Preload. 19 November 2026: launch.
Confirmed Thursday 19 November 2026. PS5, PS5 Pro, Series X|S only. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. $79.99 / $99.99. Boxed code. Preload 12 November. Single-player day one. No gen AI or microtransactions in that campaign (Nelson).
Reported L3 sprint (MikeShowSha / Vice / TheGamer). Six-star, Waink, body conditioning, Gellhorn: press, not Newswire.
Unverified 2027 delay. Prison prologue / AO. L3 as official default. Uncut sex. 30 FPS vs Pro 60. Online by 3 December.
Rockstar locked 19 November 2026
The Newswire did not hedge. On 6 November 2025 Rockstar wrote:
Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
The same post thanked players for patience and pointed at "the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City."
That Thursday replaced 26 May 2026. May had already replaced a 2025 window. Two postponements are on the record. A third is not.
Zelnick put the date in a sentence that does not leave room: on 17 May 2026, "It's November 19, 2026. I do know. No, it's been announced." On 7 August 2026, on Take-Two's Q1 FY2027 financial conference call, he reiterated net bookings guidance of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion anchored to "the November 19 launch," and said pre-orders had hit volumes "no one's ever seen before at Take-Two or in the industry." Fanbolt carried the earnings line. The date is inside the bookings number.
The commercial lock sits next to the calendar. Standard Edition is $79.99 (£69.99). Ultimate Edition is $99.99 (£89.99). That is a $10 step up from the last-gen baseline. Console pre-loading begins on 12 November 2026. Boxed retail editions contain a download code, not an optical disc. Zelnick, to Kotaku: the business is already "well over 90 percent digitally distributed." "Discs (and note I said discs) don't really make sense for the consumer" on a big game. Physical editions can still exist "now and then." For this one, the box is a voucher.
On 1 September 2026, tbreak still said GTA 6 was scheduled for 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That date is dead. The Newswire and the earnings guidance say 19 November 2026.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, no PC SKU at launch
The Xbox store, 25 June 2026: "Grand Theft Auto VI: Coming November 19, 2026 to XBOX Series X | S." Pre-order copy says you play it on Series X|S on that Thursday.
Storefront paths exist for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. That is the launch list. There is no PC SKU on day one: no pre-order, no store listing, no published system requirements. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo are out.
If the badge is not PS5 or Series X|S, it is not 19 November. PC is not on the launch storefronts. It is missing, not dated.
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are the named leads
The Rockstar store, 11 July 2026, locked the names. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are the leads.
Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk. Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Sheer luck got her out. Lucia's learned her lesson, only smart moves from here. More than anything, Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, but instead of half-baked fantasies, Lucia is prepared to take matters into her own hands. A life with Jason could be her way out.
Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder. Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. After a stint in the Army trying to shake off his troubled teens, he found himself in the Keys doing what he knows best, working for local drug runners. It might be time to try something new... Meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to him.
The store's thesis:
Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.
That locks a dual-character story in modern Leonida. It locks that Lucia did time in the Leonida Penitentiary. It does not lock a playable prison prologue, a ratings fight, or who is on the microphone. Casting is still withheld.
Single-player on day one: no microtransactions, no generative AI, no GTA VI Online
On 28 August 2026, at a hands-on briefing at Rockstar North in Edinburgh, co-studio head Rob Nelson said Grand Theft Auto VI launches with "no microtransactions and no generative AI anywhere in its single-player game."
Read the clause. Single-player game. It is not a promise that Take-Two uses no machine learning in the building. Zelnick has told investors the parent company uses machine learning and generative AI for time and cost efficiencies across the business. Nelson said the campaign you play is not generated and not selling you a cash shop. Both lines can be true. Do not flatten them into a fight, and do not flatten them into "Rockstar uses no AI anywhere."
Launch day is the story. Rockstar has said 19 November 2026 is a single-player campaign. There is no concurrent Grand Theft Auto VI Online on that Thursday. The GTA Online that already runs on Grand Theft Auto V keeps running. Nobody published a beta date, a public roadmap, or a commercial window for the new Online.
You buy a campaign. V's Online does not get switched off to make room.
What the Extended Look showed vs what is locked in text
On 27 August 2026, Rockstar and Netflix premiered a 26-minute presentation, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. It hit YouTube six hours later. The capture is retail base PlayStation 5. Rockstar posted it on the Newswire.
Footage is not a manual. Some of what you saw is locked in words. Some of it is a press walkthrough. Some of it is a glyph with no caption.
Locked in text: the Jason and Lucia romance is elective. Nelson: "It's not something that we want to foist upon players." You can run a professional partnership and skip the motel. Character switching was shown mid-mission, driver and window gunner, and in the open world. Developers and hands-on press say switching is restricted when one of them is on an isolated assignment. The Extended Look also showed no premium store, no digital currency, no microtransaction prompt, which matches Nelson's single-player line.
Partially locked, not Newswire: six-star wanted tiers on screen in a heavy police fight, acknowledged in press walkthroughs, absent from a dedicated Newswire. That would put a sixth star back after GTA 5's five. Older cars hotwired; newer high-end cars needing a key cloner instead of a Slim Jim, via Waink, reported after Edinburgh. Body conditioning (exercise, diners, fatigue) reported by press citing developer talk, in the San Andreas family. Gellhorn International Raceway exists as environment; closed-circuit asphalt, motocross, street drags showed up. Permanent track in Leonida is one thing. A formal racing league is another.
Not locked. Do not print these as systems. Civilian phones and patrol radio in the UI do not prove a Criminal Profile that stores heat for the long term. A small angel glyph after Jason petted a dog is not a karma meter; there is no official angel/demon scale. A contextual Study prompt on Florida fauna is not a compendium. Fuel meters were not in the 26-minute presentation. Hands-off reporter previews claim gas stations allow refueling; leaks talk fuel meters. Rockstar has not verified the mechanic.
If it needed a Newswire to become a feature, it still needs one.
The six wagers that are still wagers
1. A third delay past 2026 into 2027
Rumor. Unauthorized footage claimed the build was recent, not ready, and too far from gold. On Kalshi, contracts on a release before 2027 traded at 85 cents, an implied 15 percent chance it slips into 2027. GTA BOOM Bookie logged 36 percent to 2027. Take-Two and Rockstar answered the unauthorized drops: development is "nearly there," and people who pre-ordered should wait for 19 November. The date is still on the filings. A clip is not a Newswire.
2. Lucia prison prologue / AO rating fight
Unverified. A video circulated as the final retail opening, Lucia inside the Leonida Penitentiary, and the argument ran that explicit sequences would force cuts to dodge an Adults Only rating. Rockstar has not authenticated that footage as the retail build. The official bio already says fighting for her family landed her in that penitentiary, and luck got her out. A locked sentence in a store bio is not a locked playable prologue. On the Rockstar store the rating is "ESRB Rating Pending - Likely Mature." That is not a published Mature 17+ certificate, and it is not AO.
3. Default sprint remapped to L3
Reporter. On 1 September 2026, MikeShowSha, from the authorized Edinburgh previews, told Vice and TheGamer: "Click the left thumbstick while walking, and Jason or Lucia will start to run." The report says Rockstar "assigned sprinting to the left thumbstick." Rockstar has not published a digital manual, a mapping sheet, or an accessibility page that makes L3 the immutable default. Open reporter claim. Not official text.
4. Uncut intimate scenes / player-initiated sex
Unverified. Romance can be skipped. That part is locked. tbreak and Gulf News, 1 September 2026, wrote around viral arguments about virtual infidelity and whether encounters are uncensored. The coverage said the studio is still iterating on physical intimacy, and "Rockstar has confirmed nothing either way." No mechanical spec on player-initiated sex. No lock on cut-to-black versus uncut. Do not upgrade a skippable romance into a ratings essay.
5. 30 FPS lock versus PS5 Pro 60
Rumor. GTA BOOM Bookie had 76 percent of its pool on "30fps Locked Across the Board": 30 on base PS5 and PS5 Pro, with the Pro doing resolution, ray tracing, or image quality. The Netflix Extended Look on base PS5 was 30 frames per second. That is a capture. It is not a spec sheet. Rockstar, Sony, and Microsoft have not published performance modes, and they have not said whether PSSR unlocks a 60 FPS toggle on PS5 Pro.
6. Online day-one versus a 14-day delay by 3 December 2026
Open wager. Bookie money sat 71 percent on Online launching on or before 3 December 2026, matching the 2013 GTA Online gap: fourteen days after the campaign. What is locked: 19 November is single-player only. What is not locked: any Online window. No roadmap. No beta. No "day one" and no "two weeks later."
Three contradictions, not extra wagers: tbreak on 1 September 2026 still printing 26 May 2026 (the date is 19 November 2026); forums calling it ESRB Mature 17+ while the store is Rating Pending - Likely Mature; Take-Two using ML and generative AI for business efficiency versus Nelson's no generative AI in the single-player game. Separate those last two. Both can stand.
What we still don't know
Preload starts 12 November 2026 on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Take-Two has not published a regional unlock chart or a GMT plan. Whether your Thursday starts at midnight in your city is unpublished.
No PC date, requirements, or storefront. Zelnick has said PC can be 45 to 50 percent of revenue on a blockbuster. That is history, not a GTA VI window.
Final ESRB descriptors are not up. Strong language, nudity, substance use, intense violence: the store has not printed the finished advisory. Casting for Lucia and Jason is withheld. Resolution, dynamic scaling, PSSR, and performance modes across base PS5, PS5 Pro, Series X, and Series S: no first-party sheet. Online architecture (lobby sizes, user-generated content, whether console modding is even a conversation) unpublished. Leave the PC roleplay-marketplace rabbit hole alone until Rockstar writes a sentence.
That list is unpublished. It is not a seventh wager.
Preload on 12 November is the next hard check
Treat anything that is not on the Newswire as tentative until the preload window opens.
12 November 2026 is the first hard check that is not a quote. Files either land on PlayStation and Xbox or they do not. The Thursday either holds or it becomes a different article. Preload will not settle every wager. It will not print a frame-rate mode by magic, and it will not publish an Online window Take-Two has refused to give. It will tell you the download is real and the calendar did not blink.
Seven days later, 19 November 2026, the campaign ships. PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. $79.99 or $99.99. A box that is a code. No cash shop in the single-player game, no generative AI in that game, no GTA VI Online on day one. GTA V's Online stays up. See also Rockstar's VI site.
The calendar is locked. The six bets are still bets. The next hard check is 12 November.
