IGN's GTA 6 theft tape: cloners, search cones, and the two-second grab is gone

An IGN breakdown of vehicle security says a luxury car in Leonida is a job, not a triangle tap. Search-cone wanted footage is in the same pile. Fuel remains unofficial.

Triangle used to mean the car was yours in two seconds. IGN's theft breakdown says Leonida does not work that way. High-end rides take tools. Our leak tracker has the same clips stamped unofficial until Rockstar prints them.

Official Grand Theft Auto VI launches Thursday, 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced.

Viral, not a fact Preview reads of theft tools and wanted cones, not a Newswire spec

Cloners, lockpicks, immobilizers

The IGN tape talks electronic cloners, lockpicks, and immobilizer bypasses on luxury cars. In GTA V an Infernus on Vinewood was free if you could touch the door. Here the same class of car can alarm, and it may carry a tracker. People on that video liked the idea that a stolen car is worth something. They also said a long lockout after a botched score will feel like a brick. Both reads are on the same clip. Neither is a patch note.

Search cones, not psychic cruisers

Wanted-system footage is being read as Red Dead-style search cones. Patrols work streets and witness descriptions instead of landing on your bumper through a hill. If cop blips stay off the minimap, you break line of sight and dump the hot car. The Los Santos train-tunnel reset is the thing this is trying to kill. That is a read of preview tape.

Fuel is still unofficial

Mandatory pumps and engine heat are not on the Newswire. People are already arguing them anyway. GTA has been a clean-save rampage machine for a long time. A fuel gauge changes that.
