GTA 6 Leaks Don't Delay the August 27 Extended Look

GTA 6 Leaks Don't Delay the August 27 Extended Look

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reports Rockstar has not identified this week's GTA 6 leaker and is keeping the August 27 Extended Look on schedule for Netflix and YouTube.

Thursday is still Thursday. On 21 August, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier confirmed that Rockstar has not identified the source behind this week's unofficial GTA 6 clips and has "no plans to move next week's Netflix premiere." Rockstar's schedule remains locked.

The clock
27 August 2026. Netflix 3:00 p.m. ET; YouTube and rockstargames.com/VI at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Launch
19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The hunt
Schreier: Rockstar's internal investigation continues. An executive email confirmed production proceeds unaffected.

Runtime rumors
No official delay, no runtime listed on Netflix, and no confirmed 30-minute BBC broadcast.

What Schreier actually said

In his 21 August Bloomberg newsletter and public Bluesky post (summarized by Kotaku), Schreier reported that Rockstar has not identified the leaker or breach method, but has no plans to move the Netflix Extended Look. An internal executive email denounced the breach and stated it would not derail development. While staff face frustration following a mandatory return-to-office policy intended to stop leaks, development is nearing completion and routine social quiet is not a delay.

A working build is not a download

Schreier reported that the individual appeared to have access to a working development build instead of prerendered b-roll. That indicates internal access, not a cracked retail build or public release. Forum claims promising playable downloads remain phishing hazards.

Thirty minutes is not a BBC number

Rumors claiming a 30-minute runtime stem from unverified posts misattributing claims to the BBC or Take-Two leadership. The listing at netflix.com/GTAVI and Netflix Tudum list a single title with no runtime or episodic structure. Rockstar's 6 August Newswire remains the official baseline.

Broadcast schedule

The schedule is unchanged: the Extended Look debuts on Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, 27 August 2026, followed by YouTube and rockstargames.com/VI at 9:00 p.m. ET. GTA 6 launches 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The 30-minute BBC special is not on bbc.com. You are quoting a Reddit title.
