An easy score goes sideways. In Los Santos you split the cut and swap safehouses. On the Grand Theft Auto VI portal, Jason and Lucia share the ride. Rockstar's premise is a partnership under a statewide conspiracy in Leonida, not GTA V's three disconnected crews.

The botched score is a shared problem

GTA V gave Michael, Franklin, and Trevor separate lives, separate safehouses, and separate wanted ratings between jobs. Leonida binds Jason and Lucia after a low-level robbery blows up. Lucia is the first dedicated female lead in the HD era. Dropping stars is not a character swap across county lines. The heat sits on both of them on the ground.

Vice City asphalt, then wetlands

Vice City is the neon grid. Leonida then runs into marsh channels, wetland waterways, and isolated coastal keys. Los Santos getaways used subway tunnels and the Vinewood hills. A supercar that works downtown will lose traction in the backwaters. That is a map read. Rockstar has not published a vehicle-class spec that makes off-road builds mandatory. People who care about evasion will still want local tuning.

Story-threaded gear, still no shared inventory

Rockstar's storefront lists an Ultimate Edition with story-threaded items and a Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus. A Reddit thread argues whether deluxe cosmetics are worth buying before more gameplay. GTAForums is still picking at how the opening robbery sets the campaign.

Launch is 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no official PC date. The Extended Look ran 27 August, Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET and official YouTube around 9:00 p.m. ET. Official copy does not say Jason and Lucia share inventory on a heist. Until it does, treat that as the old open-world split.
