GTA 6 Officially Names Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, Not Bonnie and Clyde

Rockstar officially named protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval alongside character bios and a single plot logline. 'Bonnie and Clyde' remains press shorthand.
Trailer 1 introduced Lucia. Trailer 2 spoke both full names. Rockstar Games officially names its protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval across character bios and screenshot metadata. The persistent "Bonnie and Clyde" label remains a press framing from 2022, not official Rockstar copy.
Official leads
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Two official bios and one published plot synopsis.
Trailer reveals
Trailer 1 (4 December 2023) introduced Lucia; Trailer 2 (6 May 2025) confirmed both full names.
Press shorthand
Bloomberg's July 2022 "Bonnie and Clyde" report became widespread recap shorthand, but never appeared on the official VI site.
Unofficial
Voice actor credits, on-the-fly protagonist switching, and leak-derived character rosters.
Trailer 1 named Lucia, Trailer 2 named both
Trailer 1 introduced Lucia in Leonida Penitentiary orange. An intake counselor asks why she is there ("Bad luck, I guess"), but the accompanying Newswire release omitted her surname and left her male partner unnamed. Trailer 2 established both identities aloud in the Florida Keys, opening with Jason roofing ("just fixing some leaks") before arriving at the prison gates to pick up Lucia Caminos. Rockstar’s official media asset racks catalog the pair as Lucia Caminos 01 and Jason Duval 01 through 06, locking their canonical names.
What the official VI bios establish
Lucia Caminos grew up fighting for her family after her father taught her combat as a toddler. That loyalty landed her in Leonida Penitentiary, though sheer luck secured her early release. Driven by the good life her mother envisioned in Liberty City, her official character card quotes her ethos: "The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got." Her specific jailing crime remains unstated.
Jason Duval sought an easy life among Keys grifters and drug runners following an Army stint aimed at shedding a troubled youth. His bio notes: "If anything happens, I’m right behind you" and "Another day in paradise, right?" Supporting profiles round out his orbit: Brian rents Jason a Heder property in exchange for local shakedown muscle, while Cal operates Coast Guard communications and shares Brian's network. These names form Rockstar's verified roster, distinct from unauthorized leak lists.
One official plot sentence
Rockstar’s published premise outlines the entire confirmed campaign arc:
When an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.
Beyond this failed score and a statewide conspiracy, Rockstar has published no finale details, criminal charges, or law-enforcement ties for Jason. Stills depicting briefcases and police pursuits remain isolated marketing frames, not narrative confirmations.
Why "Bonnie and Clyde" is press shorthand, not lore
The label originates from Jason Schreier’s 27 July 2022 Bloomberg report describing a female Latina lead and a pair "influenced by the bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde." While Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 showcase mutual trust ("Trust?" / "Trust" and "You and me Lu, we got this"), Rockstar has never published the historical comparison. Rockstar's only Newswire reference to "Bonnie and Clyde" was a 2016 GTA Online Valentine's Day event.
Voice cast and mechanics remain unconfirmed
Rockstar has not credited voice actors for either lead. Community claims attributing Lucia to Manni Perez and Jason to Dylan Rourke remain unofficial, while veteran voice actors Troy Baker and Roger Craig Smith publicly denied involvement following trailer releases.
Dual playable protagonists are confirmed for a single-player launch, but specific mechanical implementations, such as on-the-fly mid-mission switching, shared vehicle inventory trunks, and co-op campaign play, remain unverified speculation, not documented features.
