Take-Two sealed a Discord subpoena after Rockstar called Cyberleek heartbreaking

GamesIndustry.biz carried Rockstar's 26 August 2026 statement on the unauthorized Cyberleek dump. The studio called the breach "heartbreaking for our team." Raw Leonida builds landed about eight days ahead of the planned reveal. PC Gamer had Take-Two in Manhattan federal court two days later. The clips showed unfinished collision boxes and unmixed audio. Rockstar told people to wait for 19 November.

Confirmed Rockstar acknowledged August leak footage as Take-Two pursues targeted federal subpoenas.

"This is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time," Rockstar said, and told people to wait for the finished build.

SDNY subpoenas on Microsoft and Discord

IGN reported Take-Two's DMCA subpoenas in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, aimed at Microsoft and Discord. The first ask was OneDrive files, account identities, and IP telemetry on leak channels. Discord told the court it would test legal validity and scope before handing over user data.

The YouTube request came off on 28 August. PC Gamer then reported a sealed federal order on 31 August aimed at specific Discord accounts, so suspects would not get a public heads-up. That is a leak hunt. It is not a ship-date statement.

2025 radio stems are not a delay clock

Leak files carried in-vehicle radio stems and licensed music cues with 2025 metadata timestamps. GamesIndustry.biz logged the panic that followed. People on Reddit and X treated those dates as proof of a dead build and a slip past 19 November.

The same outlet's retrospective pointed at August 2013, when GTA V radio assets leaked through early PlayStation 3 preload data weeks before street date. Licensed stems get mastered late. Physics and rendering move on other branches. Hands-on previewers who visited Rockstar North reportedly said official builds had denser traffic and more polish than the Cyberleek clips. GTA V still shipped. A 2025 timestamp on a radio stem does not move 19 November.

The Extended Look still ran

The leaker claimed an operable build and sold the dump as a protest against digital-only distribution. Physical-disc advocates piled on, arguing the apology ignored revocable licenses. That is a retail argument. It is not what the court papers are about.

GamesIndustry.biz reported that Rockstar and Take-Two kept the marketing timetable. About 24 hours after the apology, the 26-minute Extended Look went out on Netflix at 3:00 p.m. ET on 27 August, then on official YouTube six hours later. The date on the box is still 19 November.
