Players who remember unfolding the glossy paper map from the GTA V case want a box they can keep. That want is not a confirmation.

A round tray is not a Blu-ray

The loudest read is an interior circular recess, which collectors treat as a hole for an optical disc. Rockstar retail documentation says the standard boxed edition is a digital download code for the 12 November pre-load window, with no Blu-ray in the carton. On YouTube breakdown coverage of retail pricing, one line was that "no disc for physical copies is just mental." Others said a voucher kills trade-in and disc-swap ownership. A pressed disc still means trade-in value, a shelf copy, and an offline install when a multi-hundred-gigabyte download chokes a line. A round cutout proves none of that. Sony already shipped the God of War Ragnarök steelbook with the same disc-shaped tray and a paper redemption slip inside it.
