Rockstar's Trailer 2 Newswire prints the turning point: an easy score goes wrong, and Jason and Lucia must rely on each other to make it out alive across a conspiracy in Leonida. The video page describes that same score gone wrong. The landlord, the register, and the jail window are the opening the scene read walks through.
According to Eurogamer, Rockstar describes Brian Heder this way:
classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling
He owns the property where Jason lives rent-free in exchange for help with his schemes, and he wants Jason collecting rent from paying tenants.
The trailer beat Eurogamer describes is Jason slapping a weed-store owner and taking cash from the register. GTA V and San Andreas both open at a mission-giver's house before the protagonist owns a safehouse. If this bargain is the start of play, Brian's property is that house with the rent written in, and the first hours are labor you did not buy your way out of.
Eurogamer reports Jason telling the jail he is there for Lucia Caminos and that she is supposed to be getting out. The guard recognizes him, and Eurogamer reads that as a man who has already been coming by. GTA V's prologue and RDR2's chapter jumps already separate a past job from the hour you spawn into.
Eurogamer leaves a masked threat against two men in suits unresolved, asking whether that shot is a flashback or Lucia going straight back to work after the gate. They drink a cerveza Eurogamer names Dayho and toast to new beginnings, with a nose-breaking memory in the same stretch.
One driving shot is Eurogamer's label set. Left points toward Vice City airport and Ambrosia, Downtown sits straight ahead, and Southside then Peacock Bay sit to the right. Fans have suspected Ambrosia may represent Orlando, which Eurogamer records as a fan suspicion, not a Rockstar caption.
IGN's May 7, 2025 video page adds Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, and Mount Kalaga beside Vice City and Ambrosia. IGN's upload of Trailer 2 highlights Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Ocean Beach, Port Gellhorn, and Mount Kalaga. GTA V signs toward Blaine County worked as drive-through space before a district became a hub. Brian's property and the Lucia Caminos jail gate are the errands.
At Brian's, Jason helps load a small plane at night. Eurogamer presumes the cargo is drugs and does not show the contents. Lucia, in a fluorescent litter jacket, picks up trash and tells him this place is just a start while he looks unsure. Cal Hampton shouts Ring the bells, and Eurogamer calls him a friend of Jason's. A cat in the frame is what Eurogamer treats as confirmation that cats are in the game.
On Rockstar's official Trailer 2 upload, a viewer says that at 0:12 he had to "fix some leaks," and reads it as the studio clapping back at leakers. A reply on the upload's comment thread says it is not that deep, and another reply jokes about paying tenants. The clapback stays a viewer dispute on the upload.
If the suits are a memory, the first hours are a roof you have not paid for and a pickup at the gate. If the suits come after, she is back on a job before the Dayho toast is done. Ambrosia and Peacock Bay can wait on the sign.
