L3 sprint frees the camera

Since Grand Theft Auto III, sprint lived on the bottom face button. Moving it to a left-stick click matches modern shooters and keeps the right thumb on the camera during foot chases. Preview chatter says movement feels heavier than GTA V, closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 weight, but longtime players are split on losing mash-to-sprint muscle memory.

WAINK and gated car theft

According to IGN, you no longer steal any car with one button. Hold up the WAINK scanner near a vehicle and it shows details such as its security system and value. Nelson: one-button theft “left a lot of potential gameplay on the table.”

WAINK sitting next to parody apps like WhatUp and RideMe is classic Rockstar satire, but the scan prompt is the gameplay tell.
