Martin Klima Will Not Play GTA 6 but Wants Its Price Raised Anyway

Warhorse Studios co-founder Martin Klima says he will not play GTA 6 unless forced and fails to understand the hype, while hoping Rockstar and Take-Two raise the unit price so other studios can follow. Insider Gaming puts Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99 next to that hope.
Warhorse Studios co-founder Martin Klima will not play GTA 6 unless he is forced, and he still wants that sticker to raise what other studios charge you, Insider Gaming reported on 2 October 2026. You fund a price hike he will not pay.
He Will Not Play It Unless Forced
Insider Gaming quotes Martin Klima.
I am not going to be playing GTA 6 unless I'm somehow forced to. And the reason why it is so popular, it beats me. It's something which I just fail to understand.
The popularity is what beats him, and Insider Gaming also reports that he is glad somebody makes these games and calls them technological marvels. He still will not play this one unless he is forced. PC Gamer published on 1 October 2026 that the Kingdom Come: Deliverance studio co-founder hopes GTA 6 will blaze a trail to higher game prices, and that GTA does not appeal to him.
Who Can Dare to Raise the Sticker
Martin Klima turns to the unit price.
The last thing you can do is increase the unit price. That would help a lot, but everybody's scared to death about it. Now, hopefully, GTA will blaze the trail, and it will allow us to increase the cost.
Insider Gaming reports that only Rockstar and Take-Two can afford, or dare, to raise the cost, which he calls long overdue and necessary for this business to survive. That hope is his, not a Rockstar announcement.
Insider Gaming states GTA 6 Standard Edition at $79.99 and Ultimate Edition at $99.99, against a $69.99 price it calls the most common baseline for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 AAA games. GameSpot notes the base edition at $80.
If that hope lands, the GTA 6 number becomes what another publisher can cite when your next non-Rockstar game costs more than $69.99. In GTA V the buy was a city you kept, with traffic you learned and a five-star spiral you hated, not a weekend rental. Klima is asking that audience, from outside it, to underwrite higher game prices for studios that will not go first. His refusal does not pull GTA 6 off your shelf.
He cannot understand why you want the game. He understands what that want is worth at the register.
