iGrandTheftAuto Flags In-Game Purchases on the GTA 6 PS Store Listing

October 1 posts from Cade Onder and GameRant flag an In-Game Purchases line on GTA 6's PS Store listing and official rating. The optional spend those reports document is a later Ultimate Edition upgrade that keeps Electric Fang and Stock 305 off a standard save.
A US PS Store listing in iGrandTheftAuto's October 1 post, quoted on Cade Onder's reply, flags GTA 6 in-game purchases under the ESRB rating, and the optional spend already on the record is an Ultimate upgrade that keeps the shops off a standard save. Electric Fang stays off a standard save until you pay.
The Badge on the PS Store Listing
GameRant posted the same day that GTA 6's official rating carries an In-Game Purchases descriptor, and treated the line as a surprise next to Rockstar saying there are no microtransactions. The post asks what those purchases could be and stops there. Neither post is a Rockstar announcement of GTA 6 microtransactions in the launch campaign. Onder's suggestion is narrower: the notice is for the Ultimate Edition upgrade or the pre-order pack, not live microtransactions, and that mapping is his, not an ESRB policy and not a studio explanation.
August Said No Monetisations
On August 30, 2026, Eurogamer reported that Andy Cortez asked on Kinda Funny whether players could spend real money on in-game purchases, and Rockstar's answer was that there are no monetisations in this game.
Eurogamer recorded that reply on August 30, and it is not an October clarification of the store badge. Rockstar's June 24 Newswire calls Grand Theft Auto VI a single-player experience and describes the Ultimate Edition as exclusive vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, without a no-microtransaction policy on that page.
Electric Fang Stays With Ultimate
According to Eurogamer, the Ultimate Edition is £90, £20 above a £70 standard, and shops including Electric Fang and Stock 305 stay unavailable to standard owners. Standard owners can buy the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition upgrade separately after redeeming their copy, with bonus content threaded across Jason and Lucia's story and unlocked chapter by chapter. Rockstar's Newswire already describes that Ultimate action as threaded across the same story, naming vehicles, weapons, and apparel.
Forbes describes Rideout Customs alongside Stock 305 and Electric Fang, and reads all three as delivery points for edition bonuses, not a live real-money storefront inside the campaign. The $100 figure in that piece is Forbes's Ultimate Edition framing, not a shelf price the October posts restate.
In GTA Online a Shark Card filled the bank so businesses already on the map would pay out. GTA V special editions dropped bonus vehicles into a garage and left the campaign's shops alone. Pay this upgrade and the extras still arrive chapter by chapter, so a mid-story purchase can leave you waiting on later missions for Electric Fang and gear you already bought.
Is a Locked Shop a Microtransaction?
Two readings can sit on the same record. IGN's Cade Onder suggests the PS Store notice covers the Ultimate upgrade or the pre-order pack, which is how the August line and the October badge can both be true if that upgrade is the only optional real-money path the reports document. Forbes's delivery-point reading pushes the same direction: those three shops are not drawn as a live real-money storefront inside the campaign.
Eurogamer's line that the shops stay unavailable to standard owners is the reading that still costs you. Electric Fang and Stock 305 stay off a standard save until the upgrade is paid, so a content wall exists even if the badge is not a Shark Card. Players who bought cards to fund a Cayo prep already know the stomach drop a purchases flag produces. A card filled the bank so the Online loop would move. This gap, on the pages in hand, buys shops and extras that open as the story moves, chapter by chapter.
A standard save can still run Jason and Lucia's story. Pay the gap and Electric Fang and Stock 305 open on the chapter clock. Skip the upgrade and those shops stay off the edition you bought. That is the purchase the October badge can already mean.
