Sprunk, Pißwasser and Phil’s Ammu-Nation: GTA 6’s Parody Brands Explained

Sprunk, Pißwasser and Phil’s Ammu-Nation: GTA 6’s Parody Brands Explained

Every brand in GTA 6 is fake, and Take-Two says that keeps it “pure.” Where Sprunk, Burger Shot and Ammu-Nation came from, and what Leonida shows so far.

Every brand in GTA 6 is fake, and Take-Two says it will stay that way. “It’s a fictional world and everything in it is fictional,” CEO Strauss Zelnick said in April. “So we’re not even at risk of doing brand partnerships because all the brands are made up. And I think that keeps us pure.”

Sprunk, Pißwasser and Ammu-Nation are already back in Rockstar’s own footage. Here’s where GTA’s fake brands came from, and what Leonida adds.

Claim. “GTA 6 will have real-world ads and sponsored brands.”

Evidence. Reported: Zelnick told Variety at the iicon event that all the brands are made up. Reported: he told The Game Business it’s “difficult for me to believe that we would want to have interstitial advertising in a game that someone paid 70 or 80 bucks for. It would seem unfair.”

Verdict. False, per Take-Two’s CEO. Ads in GTA 6 are in-world parodies.

  1. 2001: GTA III, with Ammu-Nation.
  2. 2004: San Andreas debuts Cluckin’ Bell and Burger Shot.
  3. 2013: GTA V’s Los Santos fills with parody banks, cars and apps.
  4. July 2023: Take-Two’s lawyers stop a real-life Burger Shot pop-up.
  5. May 6, 2025: Trailer 2 includes a Phil’s Ammu-Nation commercial.
  6. Apr 2026: Zelnick says GTA’s fictional brands keep it “pure.”
  7. Nov 19, 2026: GTA 6 launches.

Why GTA Has No Real Brands

Zelnick made the case on stage at the iicon event in Las Vegas, in an interview with Variety: “We need to be true to the underlying intellectual property and we need to be true to our consumers” (Reported, Variety). Rockstar’s satire depends on that freedom. A fake soda can be called anything. A real one comes with a legal department.

Rockstar’s Rupert Humphries put the creative goal bluntly to Eurogamer: “If you are going to put all this effort into creating a version of today’s world, it has to be more over the top, more insane, more in your face” (Reported).

The Classics: Sprunk, Pißwasser and Burger Shot

GameRant counts well over a thousand fake businesses and products across the series. A few have become franchise icons (Reported parody targets):

  • Sprunk, the green soda, is GTA’s Sprite. Its long-running rival is eCola.
  • Pißwasser translates from German as “piss water,” a dig at mass-market American lager.
  • Cluckin’ Bell riffs on KFC and Taco Bell; Burger Shot on Burger King. PC Gamer notes both debuted in San Andreas and have appeared in every GTA since.
  • Up-n-Atom is GTA V’s In-N-Out.
  • Ammu-Nation, the gun store, has been the series’ jab at American gun culture since GTA III.

The Joke Is in the Name

A lot of GTA’s satire works through names alone. GameRant points to Fleeca, a bank named after “fleece”; Binco, a clothing store whose name suggests a bargain bin; and Xero Gas, which hints at fossil fuels running out. The car brands mostly mock car culture: Declasse means “low class,” and Maibatsu is plainly Mitsubishi.

What Leonida Shows So Far

Rockstar’s trailers and screenshots already show a crowded parody economy (Official, as readable on screen):

  • A Phil’s Ammu-Nation TV commercial in Trailer 2.
  • Patriot Beer and Pindayho Cerveza.
  • Uncle Jack’s Liquor, the store Jason and Lucia rob in Trailer 1.
  • Sinfrontera National Bank, Hank’s Waffles and an Arrow gas station.
  • Weazel News, back on TV.
  • A FIZZAZZ can floating in Cal Hampton’s pool, and a Xero billboard in Ambrosia.

Rockstar’s August video adds Sprunk, Pißwasser (on sale for $14.99), Fleeca, Lombank and Gruppe 6 to the list.

More Ads Than Ever

“There are more radio and in-game TV ads than ever before. A lot more,” Nelson told IGN (Reported). In the preview IGN saw, they included a depression drug called Angstipan and a 30,000-calorie Prairie Sandwich.

Nelson also explained why Rockstar avoids topical gags. “We have to be careful that what we’re choosing to satirize is not going to feel dated in a weird way,” he said; “very specific political issues or memes will date fast.” That’s why the targets are evergreen: soda, beer, guns, banks.

Take-Two Protects Even the Fake Brands

Fictional doesn’t mean free to use. In July 2023, a San Diego barbecue spot planned Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell pop-ups for Comic-Con and received a cease-and-desist letter from Take-Two’s law firm. The Burger Shot event was scrapped, and the chicken stand reopened as a spoof of a spoof, “Dont Cluckin’ Tell” (Reported, PC Gamer). Rockstar uses the name itself: a Burger Shot Tracksuit was a GTA Online Twitch Drop from September 8 to 30, 2026 (Official).

What We Don’t Know

  • Whether eCola, Cluckin’ Bell and Burger Shot appear in Leonida.
  • The full radio ad list.
  • Which parodies land as missions or businesses you can rob.

Official Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 1, including the Uncle Jack’s Liquor robbery.
