Four Anonymous Sources Put the GTA 6 PC Release Date in Q1 2027

Four anonymous sources, via Video Games Chronicle and Kotaku on 13 October 2026, put the GTA 6 PC release date in Q1 2027, by the end of March. If that holds, the wait is four months after consoles at most, and Rockstar has not confirmed a PC date.
A GTA 6 PC release date in the first quarter of 2027, by the end of March, would let a PC-only player skip a November console, and that window comes from four unnamed sources in 13 October 2026 reports from Video Games Chronicle and Kotaku. Skip the November box if those four sources hold.
Reported four anonymous industry sources; Rockstar has not confirmed a PC date
Four Months, Not a Year and Seven
Video Games Chronicle wrote that a new report claims Rockstar is planning the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 early next year, in the first quarter of 2027, by the end of March 2027. That report cites four separate industry sources said to be familiar with Rockstar's plans, all of whom asked to remain anonymous to avoid damaging their relationship with the studio. Kotaku attributed the four-source report to GamesBeat, put the window between January and March, and named no day inside that quarter.
If the unconfirmed window holds, VGC says PC players would wait four months at most after the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release, against a year and seven months for Grand Theft Auto 5 and about seven months for Grand Theft Auto 4. Beating both of those ports is why a four-month gap is the claim most exposed to a slip.
Buy the Console, or Wait for March
Kotaku stated that Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently only announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026, so a player who needs launch day still buys a console. The official VI page presents Jason and Lucia in Leonida and Vice City, plus pre-order and album marketing, and the Newswire index carries no PC announcement to replace that console date.
VGC quoted former Rockstar producer John Ricchio, from comments earlier in 2026, saying a console-first GTA 6 launch would be resource management, not an anti-PC stance, because the studio concentrates on known console hardware limits first and makes a PC version later. That is a reason consoles ship first, and a reason the end-of-March bound can move.
If four anonymous sources are enough, November is optional and spring is the install. If that anonymity is not enough, the safe move is still a PS5 or an Xbox Series console on the date Kotaku cites. A Rockstar PC line before that launch changes the bet, and a slip past March puts PC players back on the old port clock.
