Rockstar Puts GTA 6 Radio and Podcasts in Jason and Lucia's Ears

Eurogamer quoted Rockstar's 8 October Newswire: Jason and Lucia can hear radio and on-demand podcasts on foot through headphones and earbuds tied to their phones. Comment threads are already arguing whether that song should die at the curb.
Jason and Lucia can carry Leonida radio and a new on-demand podcast shelf onto the sidewalk, through headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones, Eurogamer reported, quoting Rockstar's 8 October Newswire.
The dial can leave the car.

Eurogamer's headline calls headphone listening to radio and podcasts a series first. Rockstar calls the on-demand podcasts a first and the headphones and earbuds newly introduced.
For the first time ever, Grand Theft Auto 6 introduces a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio, with both radio and podcasts available to listen to in vehicles and on foot through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones.
Earbuds Tied to the Phone
Viewers on YouTube already treat driving around to the radio as a favorite part of GTA V, and they expect that feeling to carry into GTA 6, including passenger-seat time if the other character takes the wheel. A second YouTube upload has people dating the same drive-around ritual to San Andreas. GTA 6 on foot radio is the break in that pattern: Rockstar put the feed on the phone, so a walk, a wait, or a sidewalk approach in Vice City can have a station without a car underneath it.
The podcasts are a shelf beside Leonida's terrestrial radio, on demand, for Jason and Lucia. One reply on YouTube guesses those shows might narrate a murder spree the player caused. That guess is unconfirmed comment theory. Rockstar places the podcasts next to the broadcast dial, playable in a vehicle or through the same phone earbuds.
Bail out of a chase the way you did after Fleeca and the GTA V station stayed with the car, so the sidewalk got sirens instead of a playlist. The phone feed can still be in their ears while they run, if the player has it going. Walking, waiting, and the ugly exit no longer need a vehicle for a station or a talk show.
Six Stations Printed With the Earbud News
Eurogamer said the same announcement detailed six GTA 6 radio stations and printed all six, with in-game names. Back Country Radio is the country channel, with Eurogamer reporting hosts Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, and Jeremy Dufrene, in-game names MW and Delta Dawne. The Chamber 106.6 is the metal channel, with Eurogamer reporting Kerry King and Tom Araya as hosts, in-game names DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.
Eurogamer also linked a musical preview on Rockstar's Cocoteo FM page, and Grand Theft Auto VI invites players to preview hand-picked stations from what it calls the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet. Eurogamer said the stations appear to be hosted by famous real-world singers according to Rolling Stone.
Die at the Curb, or Stay in the Ears
A viewer on YouTube wants the song to stop at the door. They say Cyberpunk's on-foot music would not stop unless switched off, and they want GTA 6 music to end when you leave the car and restart from a device. Other viewers in a separate YouTube upload still frame the fantasy as long drives with the radio, a habit some date to San Andreas. Eurogamer reported the game is approaching a 19 November release.
Rockstar confirms GTA 6 headphones and earbuds can carry radio and podcasts on foot. If that feed stays on after the door shuts, a sidewalk in Vice City gets a soundtrack without another input. If the viewer who called Cyberpunk's on-foot music too seamless gets their wish, you start the song again from the phone every time you bail out.
