An Open-Source Map Tool Used GTA 6 as a Deadline, Not a Rockstar Drop
The YouTube upload We Got Open Source God's Eye Before GTA 6 open-sourced a real-world map tool and used the game as a deadline, not a Rockstar build. The console date is still Thursday, November 19, 2026, and Insider Gaming still reports no confirmed PC date.
The YouTube upload We Got Open Source God's Eye Before GTA 6 open-sourced a real-world map tool and used the game as a deadline, so you still cannot load Leonida before Thursday, November 19, 2026 on Rockstar's Newswire.
That upload will not start the game.
Debunked a YouTube title is not a Rockstar source drop; the November 19 date still stands
The Thursday on the Newswire
The later Newswire is the Thursday a console player can circle, and Rockstar said the extra months are for polish, pointing to the state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City. An earlier May 2, 2025 Newswire had set May 26, 2026, and that URL still resolves if a search hits the old window. A day off booked against May is aimed at a page the later post already replaced.
Insider Gaming's September 28, 2026 hub reports the same Thursday, with confirmation only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, no PC release at first launch, and no confirmed GTA 6 PC release date. The outlet says a later PC version should be expected. That call is Insider Gaming's, not Rockstar's. A desktop library spends launch day watching, because the outlet has no PC date to hand them.
On June 18, 2026, Rockstar's pre-order Newswire said pre-orders would begin June 25 on digital storefronts and select retailers, and told players to wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store. That GTA 6 pre-order window already opened. A PS5 or Xbox Series owner can still treat that Thursday as a purchase day.
The Upload Is Not the Score
The citable upload is titled We Got Open Source God's Eye Before GTA 6. The poster wrote that the code sits at github.com/bilawalsidhu/gods-eye-view, mentioned a one-click installer, and asked people to add a layer, a voice action, or a mission mode. Anyone who farmed Cayo knows a real source rumor has a menu string you can picture. The poster is pointing at a map tool, not a GTA 6 build you can drive.
A viewer comment on that upload says "We've got open-sourced Palantir before GTA 6," and another says they clicked because the concept of open-source Palantir is terrifying. Trailer 2's Newswire is a separate page, where Jason and Lucia get pulled into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida after an easy score goes wrong, and that score is not in the upload.
Did the Tool Actually Land First?
Same-thread replies cut the novelty the title is selling. One reply says this has been available for over ten years and is vibe-coded from publicly available aircraft data and Google Maps. Another says the data is already public and the video is an interface plus AI voice control.
The Palantir comment treats a public map as the thing that beat the launch to the internet. The ten-year reply points at flight data and Google Maps that were already public. If you came for open source before GTA 6, those comments are about a different map. Watch that Thursday on the later Newswire, and treat a GTA 6 PC release date as unnamed until Rockstar names one.
