GTA 6 comes out in Japan on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Official. Xbox Japan lists ¥9,800, and the Japanese PlayStation Store now shows CERO Z Store listing. New here? Start here.

Japan is the one storefront this pass that printed a clock, not just a day. PlayStation’s Japanese product page listed 2026/11/18 3:00 p.m. UTC (10:00 a.m. ET on 18 November) next to the Ultimate Edition header. That is Sony Japan’s metadata. It is not a Rockstar Support “midnight local” sentence for launch. We are labeling the source.

If you convert a rumoured US Eastern midnight, you land on the afternoon of the 19th in Tokyo — still the 19th. The people asking “is it the 20th in Japan” are doing the conversion in the wrong direction. PlayStation Japan’s own timestamp points at local midnight on the 19th, not at the 20th.

The publisher date remains 19 November.

Yen on both stores. CERO Z, same as GTA V

Rating check, re-done 20 October 2026: the PlayStation Store JP shows CERO Z (Store listing), with ¥9,800 Standard and ¥12,280 Ultimate. Game*Spark reported on 17 October that the Japanese PlayStation and Xbox stores switched from 審査予定 to Z, with the same Crime and Violence icons as GTA V Reported. Rockstar Japan’s 16 October Rockstar Japan press release still printed 審査予定. In Europe, PEGI not certified: PEGI.info shows no entry, PlayStation Stores show PEGI 18, and PEGI’s own 18 page was posted 2 October and pulled (Reported, PEGI page pulled). Every region: ratings.

Xbox Japan — xbox.com/ja-JP — printed ¥9,800 Standard, ¥12,280 Ultimate, and ¥2,480 for the upgrade this pass. The rating line on that listing read 審査予定 when fetched 25 September; Game*Spark reports it now reads Z (17 October, Reported); the US ESRB rating is M for Mature 17+.

PlayStation Japan — playstation.com/ja-jp — did not print a yen price on the marketing page this pass. Its age FAQ says VI’s rating is 未定, then notes Grand Theft Auto V was CERO Z (18才以上のみ対象) in Japan. That last clause is V. On 20 October the PlayStation Store itself showed CERO Z for VI.
